Motion Blur

Almost opposite to regular photography, the idea is to blur the target instead of capturing it clearly. The idea for this version of art, is a fast-moving object. The best mode for shooting action would be the TV mode. This allows for the aperture to automatically set itself and the main important function, the shutter speed, to be in manual control for a controlled blurred effect. The faster the shutter speed the stiller your target. The longer you leave the shutter open for, lets say 1/60 of a second as opposed to 1/1000 it allows for much more of the action which results in blur to be captured.

If you place the camera at a shutter speed that’s to low however like let’s, say half of a second, it’d blur to a point of almost disappearance and with blur photography you’d like for your target to still be recognizable. Another factor that effects the requirement of your shutter speed is how fast the target is moving, or how violently its moving. Lets say a car as apposed to a runner. The runner would require a much slower shutter speed than the car would in order to capture a perfect blur.

Depth of Field

Everybody enjoys a nice clear picture with everything captured beautifully, however this can get boring. Maybe something in the background or in a corner to entice the audience’s vision. One of these techniques is depth of field. Depth of field is the detail in the background of your target. This can be detailed or shallow. What that means is your target is captured with the background intentionally blurred out slightly or by a lot. This is shallow depth of field. It brings greater focus to the target by zoning out everything else in the image. Even so it can be interesting to look at the background. Detailed depth of field is more like a regular picture with the target still very much in the spotlight however the background is not blurred.

The main component for this type of art is the aperture. The lower the aperture the wider the cameras hole becomes, these effects the degree of shallowness in the background. So, the best setting to have your camera in would be Tv, that way the shutter speed automatically sets itself and you can focus and adjusting the background. The distance between you and the subject and background also greatly effects the resulting image. The closer you are to the target the easier it is to control the depth of field. To blur the background you’d want to be closer to the target. To have the background sharp and detailed you’d want to take a more general picture from more of a distance.

Frame

  1. The composition is adequately strong, centered in between frames from all 4 directions highlighting the subject.
  2. There most definitely wasn’t very much change editorial wise and could use some improvement.
  3. If I were to redo the assignment I think I’d focus on the clarity and focus of the image.
  4. I don’t believe the pictures are good enough to be placed in the homepage. The ideas for some and one specifically are probably worthy of going on the homepage however the execution was to poor.

Collage

I am a fairly simple person with not to many interests or hobbies for that matter. My favorite season and weather would be cold, grey sky’s, with smoggy breath in the morning. The snow powdering rooftops, tress, and the streets is my favorite sight and feeling. Second to that however is a  nice beach relaxing beach day with temperatures on the lukewarm side because who actually likes extreme heat? 70 to 80 degrees sounds about perfect for a day out in a body of water. Sense about sophomore year of high school I’ve been very dedicated to remaining physically active, which has resulted in incredible progress so that’s become a major dedication for me. One of the main things I do to remain physical is running.

Towards the beginning is usually when its fun and it eventually gets to you can the best solution to that, well, boredom is changing the location. Ideally a beautiful mountainous terrain is best for boredom, stamina, and over all running. To accompany running I like listening to music which i have no specific taste, its kind of what appeals to me in the moment. Something recent I’ve been listening to is Metallica as well as Jcole. My favorite candy bar is the recess fast break and really my only social media platform is Instagram, and I love watching/going to the movies.
